(Page Updated: 22 Sep 2008) Currently the History Unit is located in a classroom at Dandenong High School and is co-ordinated by Dawn Harris, the Association’s Historian. The Unit has a small storeroom adjacent to the classroom, 8 lockable cabinets along one wall, 2 map drawers (Shown in the pictures below) and a filing cabinet. These facilities house the Association’s collection of records and artefacts collected and donated by the School and ex students. Monthly working bees are held to:
The collection includes, School photographs, uniforms, a comprehensive, but not complete, set of the School’s annual magazine, ‘The Gate’, School concert posters, programme and photographs. The History Unit is always pleased to receive material covering the School’s history, it has a list of “missing items” and in particular the following editions of ‘The Gate’: 1948, 1949, 1952 &1971 Please contact Dawn Harris on 97875136 If you can help.
